Exploring a Dystopian Future
“The Void” publication explores the dystopian future and examines how the Chinese social credit system might impact society. Its narrative takes the reader from the initial backstory to the behavioural changes observed after the system's integration. A contrasting colour scheme has been selected to create discomfort and an eerie feeling, giving the reader a sense of constantly being watched.
Typography and Visual Control
The typographic use of bold display fonts plays an important role in asserting dominance over the reader, further referencing the magazine's message. Each paragraph is always guided by an element pointing to it or some form of leading line, a prominent feature throughout the publication, inspired by how the credit system manipulates its victims to obey and stay in line.
